We had lots of activity stations set up so there was something for all kids in the 1-6 years of age group. Here is what kept our group very busy:
- Ring toss
- Bowling
- Hula hoops
- Bean bag toss
- Hopscotch (thanks to some painters tape on the floor)
- Bubble wrap jump and pop (kids stomped, drove cars over it and experimented with putting different kinds of pressure to make the pop sound)
- Trains and tracks
- Car mat and cars
- Action activity cards
We rounded out the event with making wheel tracks using paint on car wheels and a fun circle time with transportation themed songs to go along with our theme of the month (planes, trains & automobiles) and the parachute. Songs that were a bit hit included:
- The good afternoon train
- row your boat, drive your car, drive your train (all to the tune of row, row, row your boat)
- zoom zoom zoom
At the end we also sang shake your sillies out with the parachute and then threw cotton balls on the chute to make it snow!
