A House for Hermit Crab and Painting in the Park!

Thanks to some warm sunshine, momstown Oakville kicked off two of it's summer programs this week!

Baby Book Club

On Monday we held our first ever Baby Book Club at Coronation Park! During circle time by the lake, we read A House for Hermit Crab. Afterwards at the craft station we all made homes for our very own hermit crabs!


Picassos in the Park

Picassos in the Park kicked off this morning at Coronation Park. We let the little ones loose to discover their inner artists! They painted with brushes, sponges, fingers and even their toes!!



Baby Book Club and Picassos in the Park will be running monthly for the rest of the summer. All ages are welcome. If you are interested in attending one of these events, contact Holly for your free trial membership.

Under the Sea fishies!

On Tuesday our momstown Crafty Kids playgroup pretended we were underwater fish with our Under the Sea theme. Funky fishbowls were made with handprint fish and dried bean "rocks" (yep, we made sure no little people ate those beans!).

Our sensory craft was really well received and all the kids tried it, even the young toddlers! Shaving cream was used as "glue" to decorate our fish with pompoms and sparkly decorations. This pair of 12 month twins had a great new experience poking their little fingers into the shaving cream and testing it out!

The room we use at The Little Gym Oakville was perfect for a parachute circle time and our stuffed Nemo took a flying ride on the rocky waves of the parachute!

Oakville Baby Playgroup!!

What does a baby do at a momstown mom & baby playgroup?

They giggle and gurgle, lay on the floor, listen to the chatter and generally enjoy their time in a new place. Mama on the other hand, loves her time out of the house chatting and commiserating with other mamas!

Maybe it should be called a mama playgroup?!?!

Every week momstown Oakville meets up on Wednesday mornings in a perfect setting (Sharkeys Cuts for Kids) for non-mobile babies up to one year old. It's relaxed and casual environment to connect with other neighbourhood moms and children. We welcome all momstown moms to pop in and enjoy!

Every month momstown Oakville gathers for the Baby Brunch! Sometimes there's a large group, sometimes a more intimate brunch crowd but there is always conversation, food and babies!

There's a new mom in town!

We want to start by saying a big thank you to Janet Stephens who has launched momstown Oakville from ground up! Janet is stepping back from her role as community manager of the Oakville chapter and moving into her new role as member! She has been a fantastic asset to this great community of moms and we are thrilled that she is continuing to stick around! Janet leaves big shoes to fill, but we are certain that your newest momstown mama can do it!

So, with that bittersweet news, we would like to welcome our new momstown Oakville community manager, Holly Comella! Holly has been a part of momstown Oakville for about a year and is mom to sweet Ava who is 15 months old! We are thrilled to have Holly as part of our momstown team and looking forward to all of the exciting things she has in store for momstown Oakville!
