C is for Caterpillar, Clowns and Cookies!

On Wednesday we held our monthly Alphabet Play program.  This month we focused on the letter "C".

We always start the program by singing "The More We Get Together" and the "ABC's".  We talk about how the letter sounds and how it can look different, showing both upper and lower case versions.  It's wonderful to see kids as young as 16 months learning about letters and their sounds!

Our Alphabet Play program is lead by Sherri from Circle Time Parties and she always brings lots of things to help learn about the letter of the month.  She gives the children clues and they have to guess what it could be.  This month they discovered a caterpillar, a cookie, a crocodile and a cat!

We also sang "Mary had a Little Cow", as a lamb just did not fit in with our theme and belted out "C is for Cookie"!

Our craft was making caterpillars and the kids got creative with tissue paper, glitter glue and crayons.

We finished our time together by reading "C is for Clown" by Stan and Jan Berenstain.
