1. Pencil/Marker Vase
Here are the steps to make this gift:
-Find a cylinder vase that is about the same height as the markers or pencils you will be using to surround the vase.
-Choose something that will tie all the pencils/markers to the vase.
-Cut out a circle shape from a sturdy piece of cardboard that will cover the base of the vase and the pencils (you are creating a base so the pencils/markers) don't slip down.
-Tie the ribbon (or rope or tape measure) around the vase loosely and then start standing up the pencils or markers around the vase.
-Once the vase is surrounded, tie the ribbon tightly. You may need a few small pieces of clear tape to keep the ribbon secure.
-Add the water and flowers
-You could also slip a gift card into the ribbon or tie a card to the ribbon that had a gift card inside

-Buy an 8 X 10 shadow box, white card stock and a box of crayons
-Print the first initial of the teacher's name in Century Gothic font so that it takes up almost the entire page. Choose the font colour to be light grey so you can use the print out as an outline for the crayons but not so dark that it will stand out. Choose a fancy cursive font and type out the teacher's name at the bottom.
-Print two copies, one to practice with and use to help cut the crayons and one to use to make the gift
-Cut the crayons in the sizes you need using a paring knife. There will be bits of crayon floating around as you cut the crayons...best to blow those bits away instead of using your hand to wipe them away so they don't smudge colour on your page.
-Secure the cut crayons in place using white glue.
-Once it has dried (overnight is best), insert the page into the shadow box and voila!
